To spread sustainable development and strengthen democracy.

Background:

Democracy is an inescapable condition of Sustainable Development.
The sustainability of democracy implies the active participation of citizens in the construction of the society, based on the strengthening of the best values that have characterized our civilization.
We Costa Ricans have the high possibility of being able to show the example of democracy and the great advantage of having a leader who represents it and who is also a champion of Sustainable Development, as is José María Figueres.

Goals:

Form national and international networks for the dissemination and promotion of sustainable development.
Approach young citizens to discuss Sustainable Development, the future of the country, the significant national challenges,
and the contributions of high technology in all these fields.

Citizen's apathy towards political activity and solution of problems.
Leadership training in the youth population cannot be delayed so that it can assume the civic responsibilities of the future.
The programs that work on the problems of youth lack coordination that will enhance the efforts of each one.

Create a social network for organizations that works with youth people.
Create an information system and communication network.
Establish relationships with other organizations to share information and experiences so that a new and attractive program design for youth can be specified.

What were the advances?

Held presentations by former Costa Rica's President Figueres: 10 in schools and 7 in universities.
Former President Figueres participated as a keynote speaker at conferences, seminars, and congresses in Venezuela, Colombia, China, Peru, Mexico, United States, Dominican Republic, France, United Arab Emirates, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, Sweden, Japan, Argentina, Costa Rica.
